Plan the product image set
Use a clear main image plus real back and detail views. Decide which photo best communicates the item and its distinguishing features.
Check every edited detail
Compare colour, seams, logos, closures and proportions with the original. Include real close-ups where material or condition matters.
Prepare files and descriptions
Use a consistent crop and meaningful filenames. Write alt text that describes the visible garment rather than repeating unrelated keywords.
Preview the actual product page
Upload through Shopify, check the current media requirements and preview desktop and mobile. Make sure variant images correspond to the right item.
A practical example
For a jacket with two colour variants, check that each variant selects the correct photo. Inspect the mobile crop so the hood and hem remain visible.
